25 Years Out: MCAD MFA Alumni Exhibit

This July, Minneapolis College of Art and Design Master of Fine Arts Program presented "25 Years Out: MCAD MFA Alumni Exhibition" at the MCAD MFA Studios & Gallery. The show featured the work of 24 MCAD MFA alumni and included a "Sunset Practice" led by Peng Wu ’13.

This exhibition kicks off a year of celebrating the 25th anniversary of the MFA Program at MCAD. Running June 3-July 19, the exhibition was juried by Tricia Heuring and Lin Nelson-Mayson.

Tricia Heuring is a curator, arts organizer, and educator with more than fifteen years of experience in the field of arts and culture in Minneapolis. Her research and curatorial practice builds from an intention to innovate and create change in support of equity in the art world. She is a co-founder of Public Functionary, formerly a Northeast Minneapolis-based organization that takes many forms.

Lin Nelson-Mayson is director of the University of Minnesota’s Goldstein Museum of Design and teaches museum studies. She has worked for museums in Minnesota, Missouri, South Carolina, Texas, and Ohio. She has a MFA in sculpture and critical writing from The Ohio State University and a BFA in painting from Miami University (OH).

Artists selected for the show included Jonathan Aller, Hend Al-Mansour, Hallie Bahn, Michael Banning, Julie Benda, Shishir Bommakanti, Kelsey Bosch, Kayla Campbell & Katie Lupton, Christiane Grauert, Jessica Henderson, Bianca Jarvis, Jenny Jenkins, Amanda Lovelee, Jessica Meunick-Ganger, Kelli Nelson, Jill Odegaard, Erika Ritzle, Anika Schneider, Karen Searle, Kate Thomas, Suyao Tian, Peng Wu, and Shun Jie Yong.
