Target Studio Artist in Residence and MCAD MFA Alum Peng Wu '13 held an open conversation about the culture of sleep and sleeplessness with sleep researcher Dr. Michael Howell and participants. The conversation, which took place on September 27, "marks the beginning of their collaborative project to rethink approaches to sleep therapy by combining their individual, cultural, artistic, and scientific perspectives." From the artist, "By asking "what keeps you up?", we want to acknowledge the fact that there are unique personal stories in all the sleepless nights. During the open conversation of sharing the stories, you will also be invited to participate in a collective performance "Sew the Night". No previous experience needed, free to everyone." The event is part of a collaboration between the Target Studio for Creative Collaboration and the UMN Medical School. Photography by Yi Wan.
