MCAD MFA alumnus Kyle Harabedian (comic art 2013) recently completed a privately commissioned, large-scale mural. The client was interested in creating a unique and fun family portrait and contacted Kyle after seeing his work online. The composition is inspired by a famous 1952 photograph of a theater audience taken at the premiere of the film “Bwana Devil,” the first 3D, color movie ever released. The image is mirrored and cropped from the original J. R. Eyerman Life Magazine photo and the faces of all five family members as well as their dog were added to the audience. The finished oil on canvas painting measuring 5’ by 8’ is installed in the home theater of their newly built home in Wayzata, MN. Lucy T. Penfield and her company Lucy Interior Design did the interior design. For more about Kyle Harabedian, please visit here. Categories All
