Monica Haller, MFA 2005, is currently an artist in residence at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Her residency project, “Beneath the Ground,” is on view at the MIA from June 12 October 26, 2014. “Beneath the Ground” uses scientific data and soil samples to explore new ways of understanding artworks in the museum’s collection. The project includes a series of soil sample “monoliths” installed throughout the museum and will be accompanied by docent and local soil scientist led tours, which will teach visitors about the global importance of soil as a natural resource. http://new.artsmia.org/ For more information about this exhibition and Monica’s previous nationally acclaimed work, go to: http://new.artsmia.org/exhibition/americabeneaththesoil/ http://www.veteransbookproject.com/thepeople/ Categories All
