In early November, MCAD MFA drawing and painting alum Yijia Li MFA '17 had a solo exhibition at jabber logic in St. Paul during Lowertown First Friday. jabber logic "specializes in brand identity and full service marketing programs for small businesses and nonprofits." Yijia is a painter and curator focused on "discovering how people connect with the world around them." Her art making process is "not only a process of exploring painting and drawing techniques and skills, or discovering materials, but more importantly a journey to achieve that common experience." Though she admits it is likely she may never achieve that goal, she "values the process of getting herself closer to it." Lowertown First Fridays "is an association of galleries, venues, and artists who open their studios (or have a gallery arrangement) on the first Fridays of each month. It is located in Saint Paul, Minnesota in the Lowertown neighborhood." Photography used courtesy of the artist.
