Second year MFA student Xiaohua(Jim) Yang had the privilege of attending an 18 participant workshop for illustrators. This intensive workshop was hosted at the Light Grey Art Lab in Minneapolis, which featured renowned artist Mike Yamada and Victoria Ying. Though this intensive Jim was able to gain immediate knowledge on how to build a proper portfolio and the importance of thinking about the relationship between composition, environment and characters.
