Donna Meyer / 2019 Thesis Candidate

You will wonder...

You will question...

You will ask why.

There will always be one question you do not have the answer to. We all want to be heard, understood, accepted, and have a purpose in life to find a balance in this chaotic world in which we live, and to find order in the disorder we embody. Essentially asking questions of the unknown can drive a person mad, or it can drive that person to live. Everyone has a belief system when it comes to religion, culture, politics and the environment. We all eventually have to find a solution or belief system that brings peace from within. These are the questions that drive Donna Meyer’s work to create and examine our existence, generating spaces to ponder theories of afterlife and natural phenomenon. She uses found objects, paper accordions, photographs, projections, and moving images to create physical spaces in contrast to ephemeral happenings resulting from light and shadow.

Be sure to join us on Friday, May 17th from 6pm-9pm at the MFA Graduate Studios to enjoy Donna's thesis work, along with the other 2019 graduates!
