Gideon Bok: MFA Studio Visits

Internationally known American painter Gideon Bok recently gave a lecture at MCAD. Bok was kind enough to do studio  visits with graduate students. He brought great insight to those that he visited. Here is a short description of Bok.

Gideon Bok is a prominent American painter who lives and works in Maine. He has taught at the Yale University School of Art and Hampshire College. He is a recipient of the 2004 John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship and the Hassam, Speicher, Betts, and Symons Fund Purchase Award through the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 2005.

Bok’s work has been reviewed by the New York Times, the Boston Globe, Time Out New York, Open Studio Press ARTnews, and Art New England. He is represented by Alpha Gallery in Boston and Steven Harvey Fine Art Projects in New York City. Bok received his BA from Hampshire College and his MFA from Yale University School of Art.
