This fall, second year Heather Peebles and alum Julie Renee Benda '16 participated in "Making It Public," a five-part workshop series hosted by Forecast Public Art. The mission of the workshop, which was held over six Tuesday nights throughout September and October in the Lowertown neighborhood of St. Paul, was to help artists make public art. Peebles and Benda joined 20 artists from a wide range of disciplines as they explored creative spaces around the cities, and discussed topics including "site analysis, community engagement, permitting, conservation, proposal preparation, project management, and project ideation." From Forecast: "Workshops will take place at multiple locations in Lowertown, St. Paul: Minnesota State Arts Board, A to Z Gallery, Minnesota Museum of American Art, Bedlam Lowertown, as well as the Forecast offices. The program is made possible with funding from the City of Saint Paul Cultural STAR Program." Wow!
