Illustrator Jo Yeh showing work in Leipzig

This summer, Jo Yeh (MFA ’15 illustration), held a solo exhibition at Raum Weisz Gallery in Leipzig, Germany.

The exhibition featured the two major projects she had finished earlier this year, which contained a series of drawings and a comic strip. Yeh’s work illustrates people’s lives with everyday scenes and objects, and always creates a bittersweet, “deja vu” feeling that mimics reality.

“As an artist, my greatest interests lie in the depictions of relationships among people and subtle inner emotions, such as loneliness, regrets, addictions, or other things people might feel uncomfortable talking about. My work serves as an exit for me to release my own innermost thoughts, and I want the viewers of my work to be able to relate to my work in a personal way.”
