This month, MFA mentor Luis Fitch exhibits his works in a group show entitled "Folklore Remix," at Gamut Gallery in Minneapolis. In this exhibition, Luis Fitch, Rodrigo Oñate & Repo "remix" the stories of their childhood. "They have retrofitted their Mexican, Central American, and Minnesotan mythologies with a crisp, vibrant street art sensibility. Like old school vinyl on a DJ’s turntable, each artist’s cultural background is spun, scratched, and remade into works of art that are altogether fresh and new." Fitch, born and raised in Tijuana, Mexico, is the founder and creative director of UNO Branding, a multicultural, strategic visual communication agency, and his personal work has shown in more than 100 collections throughout the United States and Latin America. He currently serves as a mentor of graphic design students for MCAD's MFA program, including Sieng Lee '14, Desiree Niu '14, Heidi Miller '16, Amber Newman '16, and Suyao Tian '17. Folklore Remix runs until July 30. For more information: Luis Fitch Gamut Gallery Sieng Lee Desiree Niu Heidi Miller Amber Newman Suyao Tian Categories All
