This October, MCAD MFA students hosted and participated in a screen printing workshop. The workshop was held in the printmaking studio on MCAD's main campus and is a way for MFA students to learn a new printing process or refresh their skills while also becoming more familiar with MCAD facilities. MFA 2nd year illustrator Yuchen Zhang taught the five-week workshop, taking students through each step of the process. Skills included learning about photosensitive emulsion, exposing screens, mixing ink, perfecting printing registration, and more. Over the course of the five weeks, MFA students had the opportunity complete their own multi-color screen printed editions. Student work produced during the workshop will be exhibited at MCAD this spring, so make sure to watch our Facebook page for more details. Photography by Yi Wan.
