For the next few days we'll be featuring pics from our awesome first-year grads' mid-program reviews. These are works by Jocelyn MacDonald '21. From MacDonald's statement: "Jocelyn Suzuka MacDonald creates installations that unearth the pains of cultural abandonment and the deeply rooted narrative of generational trauma. She is concerned with finding her identity within the margins of two countries—America, the nation she calls home, and Japan, the country of her birth. Her work cannot settle between being present or absent; bold or subtle; proud or humble—maintaining dualities that reflect her Japanese-American heritage." Categories Mid-Program Reviews
