one two three / New Photographic Work from the MCAD MFA program

Coming from varied backgrounds, fields of study and interests, all 6 of these artists utilize photography in uniquely varied approaches. An undeniable sense of the exploration of identity and place can be felt throughout these works Whether thinking of place as a jumping point for the fascination that it can inspire, or through an approach that addresses sociological or anthropological concerns-place can be a portal to elicit deeper conceptual and theoretical thought. A sense of identity is often embedded in that very same connection to place. Identity can also addressed through found and created objects and portraiture, as each of these can help speak to issues of connection or disconnection.

Participating artists include:

Kelsey Bosch
Andi Fink
Essma Imady
Mandy Martinson
John Matsunaga
