Visiting artist Do Ho Suh recently gave a lecture at MCAD and also held a roundtable meeting with the MFA program. Twelve MFA students attended the meeting and shared their work to Do Ho Suh. Do Ho Suh is an internationally renowned Korean artist whose site-specific installations and meticulously crafted sculptures question boundaries of identity and conventional notions of scale and space in both its physical and metaphorical manifestation. Some/One Do Ho Suh2005 His thought-provoking works have been represented in many of the world’s leading museums, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, the Tate Modern in London, and Serpentine Gallery in London. In 2001, Do Ho Suh represented Korea at the Venice Biennale and in 2010 participated in the Venice Biennale Architecture Exhibition and the Liverpool Biennial. Among his most recent exhibitions and projects include The Perfect Home(2012-2013) at 21stBetween (2012) at Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art, Japan, Fallen Star (2012) in Stuart Collection, University of San Diego, California, and Home within Home (2012) at Leeum – Samsung Museum of Art, Seoul.
