Think & Drink / Deconstruction with Frenchy Lunning, PhD

On May 7, the Minneapolis College of Art and Design MFA program presented its first Think & Drink event, a new conversational series in partnership with Icehouse MPLS. The event started with thematic cocktail demonstrations by Icehouse MPLS’s bartenders, followed by a presentation by Professor Frenchy Lunning, PhD, who gave a brief introduction on the theory of deconstruction. Following the presentation, attendees had the chance to ask questions and discuss the topic.

Frenchy Lunning, PhD, is a professor of Liberal Arts at MCAD, in Design History and Cultural Studies, and has written two books and is working on a third, Revolutionary Girl: Shōjo.

Icehouse is located in what was originally the loading docks to the old Cedar Fuel and Ice where over 75,000 tons of Ice was harvested each year and later a part of Icehouse studios where many audio and video recordings took place. The original brick and wood ceiling still remains and was incorporated into the design of Icehouse the restaurant, bar, and music venue.

Join us for the next Think & Drink on July 16th for a discussion on gender performativity with Professor Sara Cluggish. RSVP here.
