This summer Second year MCAD MFA student Xuancheng Zhang spent 83 days for a journey in the United States. He went through over 20 states and visited 18 cities by Amtrak, which include Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, San Diego, New Orleans, Orlando, Atlanta, Savannah, Baltimore, Washington D.C, New York City, Philadelphia, Denver, etc. During the round trip, he utilized his digital camera to capture momentary stories between cityscapes and pedestrians when he was in urban area, document landscapes when he was on the train. At the same time, talked with “strangers” that consist of painters, designers, photographers, street performers, one musician and one judge.
