Jaime Hernandez is best known for his serial narrative Hoppers 13. In addition to his comics, which have been translated into six different languages, he occasionally creates drawings for the New Yorker, as well as album and DVD covers. Jaime and his brother Gilbert, known collectively as Los Bros Hernandez, revitalized the comic scene of the 1980s with their multi-volume graphic novel Love and Rockets. Drawing upon the punk music scene that they experienced growing up in southern California, their minimalist black-and-white comics articulated a generation’s concerns with gender, sexuality, race, and class.
