Born in California, Matthew Brandt received his BFA from the Cooper Union in New York and his MFA from UCLA. He currently lives and works in Los Angeles. Brandt's first solo museum exhibition, sticky/dusty/wet, was recently on view at the Columbus Museum of Art and has now traveled to the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art. Photographs from Brandt's Lakes and Reservoirs series are in a solo show at the Savannah College of Art and Design Museum of Art and in the International Center of Photography's group exhibition What is a Photograph? Brandt's work is also in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; J.
