Michael Rees is a sculptor working with themes of figuration, language, technology, and notions of the social. A few of our MFA classmates were lucky enough to have a studio visit with him after his lecture here at MCAD. He is currently associate professor of sculpture and digital media and director of the Center for Computer Art and Animation at William Paterson University. Rees has exhibited widely, including at the Museum of Art and Design, the Whitney Museum, the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, and the MARTa Museum in Germany. He has received grants from Creative Capital, the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the Rockefeller Foundation, and the NEA.
