This January, our current student and Fulbright Fellow Camilo Aguirre conducted a workshop at the Fantasmita workshop space, in Bogota, Colombia. The theme was documentary comics, one that forms a large part of his artistic practice. "During this workshop the students presented documentary comic projects with the intention of thinking about subjectivity, when drawn in a sequential format," Aguirre said when asked about the details of the workshop. Besides this, Aguirre is currently working on a collaborative project with Maria Castillo Ortega'18, an editorial and web designer who is also an alumna of our program. Their collaboration is titled The Good Life and will be displayed at the White Page Gallery in Minneapolis this February. This project talks about the contrast in the idea of a "good" life, through their cross-cultural experiences in the United States and in Colombia.
