Gabriel Zhang is a Singapore/Boston/Minneapolis-based photographer. Although Zhang began as a graphic designer, the focus of her work soon developed more toward photography, as she explored new ways of creating a sensual image—the conceptual frame and focus of the work. Since Zhang has been focused on this passion, which revolves around the creation images that evoke a uniquely private vision, yet also reveal the universal quality that is embodied in the naked figure, her work has expanded as my skills have brought me closer to my goals. Gabriel's work is essentially about capturing, freezing, and presenting these unique moments that express our shared humanity through the particular lens of “beauty.” And in so doing, one of these expressions that spoke so profoundly to the photographer, was the attraction between people that the camera was able to present. During photo shoots she stresses spontaneity with her subjects. One of the main goals is to create the atmosphere of an intimate relationship with subjects. This intimacy allows Zhang to create a link between the subject and herself to transform her interior to their exterior.
