This month, first year MFA candidate Zoe Cinel curated a group show at MCAD's Gallery 148. The show, Trump Backward-Forward, featured several events spaced over several weeks: a gallery opening with selected readings, a screening of "Artist's Cut of the Caiman" by Nanni Moretti, and a panel discussion. Participants in the show and panel included current MFA students Jacob Yeates '17, Samantha Russell '17, Sishir Bommakanti '18, and mentor Piotr Szyhalski. The discussion was moderated by MFA faculty member Damon Stanek. Cinel writes, "TRUMP: BACKWARD-FORWARD features 10 artists from different cultural backgrounds who use a variety of media and have created work in response to the current socio-political climate. The exhibition promotes collaboration, dialogue and information as a way to critically act against the system to build a more inclusive society."
