Image Alumni ’22 Degree Bachelor of Fine Arts Areas of Study Fine Arts Studio Current Career Social Media & Project Associate at Art Partners Group Location De Pere, Wisconsin Describe the work you submitted for merits. I submitted a variety of experimental pieces from my most recent body of work, as well as a public art installation done outside of MCAD. Why did you decide to come to MCAD? I transferred to MCAD to be a part of the local vibrant artistic community, and to attend a university that would allow me to experiment within my practice and carve my own artistic path. I also fell in love with the facilities when I toured! What are your plans for your senior year? And beyond? Within my senior year, I plan to take as many courses as I can and really take advantage of the facilities! What's the best thing you've got from MCAD's free shelf? I miss the free shelf dearly, though my favorite thing I snagged last year was a stack of vintage national geographics! What inspires you? I am inspired by experimentation- whether it is with new software, fabrication techniques, or materials. I also derive a lot of inspiration for color, shape, and movement from my sensory experience with synesthesia! Do you have a favorite piece you've made? Describe it! One of my favorite pieces I've made at MCAD was my photo book Low- Poly Abstraction from fall 2020. I took texture jpegs from free-use 3D renderings and digitally manipulated them in photoshop. The photo book functions as a catalog of the experiments, which get increasingly abstract as the book progresses. The piece was pivotal for me and I've been meaning to work further with those concepts! Anything you're obsessed with at the moment? Currently I'm obsessed with 3D modeling and fabrication, specifically using Form Z and the CNC and laser cutter. I've been captivated by other artist's modeling work, and It's been really fun to create work on my own. I'm obsessed with the interface as well- it's so beautiful! Website
