Faculty Title Instructor Degree Current Career Illustrator and Artist Sam Kalda is an illustrator and artist based in Saint Paul. His books include Of Cats and Men (Ten Speed Press) and When We Walked on the Moon, written by David Long (Wide Eyed Editions). Selected clients include the New York Times, the New Yorker, Vogue, Warby Parker, Disney Digital, and West Elm, among others. In addition to commissioned illustrations, Kalda's artwork has been exhibited in shows in New York, Los Angeles, London, and Berlin. In 2017, he received a gold medal in book illustration from the Society of Illustrators in New York. Prior to teaching at MCAD, Kalda was an adjunct professor of design at Queens College CUNY.
