This workshop is geared towards adventurous individuals eager to explore new creative terrain and the art educator who wants to expand the way they think about drawing. The class will consider the criteria for successful experimental work and will look at contemporary artists using experimental drawing as their primary artistic practice. Drawing will be considered as a mode of discovery and creativity. Experimentation will be key to exploring the parameters of drawing.

Produce prints in MCAD's beautiful and expansive printmaking studio while devoting studio time to technical investigation and personal exploration. This week-long workshop for art educators will include demonstrations of intaglio, embossing, relief printing, and monotype printmaking techniques.

Learn intaglio processes on copper and plexiglass plates, including drypoint and etching; experiment with embossing, chine-collé, and experimental plate printing; and discover the monotype process, including how to print by hand and with a press.

Stories shape our culture and define who we are and motion pictures (film and video) are more prevalent today than ever before. Digital video can be an effective medium for collecting, delivering, and sharing stories in class and online. This workshop is for educators interested in using filmmaking as a classroom technique to tell a narrative. Educators may apply these new skills and formulate project and assignments for their classrooms.
